Many readers tired of listening to climate change deniers and urge care for our planet

Thousands of scientists vs. one Re: "More ill-informed writers," by Ted Gilles, Dec. 30 Letters. Mr. Gilles took issue with three letters dated Dec. 22 concerning climate change and human contribution to such change. He stated there is "zero evidence" such changes are anything but natural. He labeled the writers as "ill informed," asserting the best evidence on climate change is to be found in the publication "An Inconvenient Deception" by Dr. Roy Spencer. Spencer is a principal research scientist for the University of Alabama in Huntsville and U.S. Science Team Leader for the Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer on NASA's Aqua satellite. Spencer believes claims by other scientists regarding the severity of climate change are greatly exaggerated. Partnering Opportunities with Models

I am looking for relatively fit figure art models to partner with in open drawing sessions and photography shoots. My studio is at the Rockville/Silver Spring area. The exact address will be provided to models directly. An e-mail will go out with proposed dates. Groups of artists, models and photographers will then be formed accordingly. There are opportunities for week days, weekend-ends, day-times or evenings. There is also room to discuss few special requests or preferences before committing to a session. Modeling sessions have the following format: Figure Art Drawing classes Models will take poses ranging from 5 to 30 minutes depending on the techniques I wish students to learn. I will be very involved providing instructions to students and asking models for specific classical drawing poses; and they will be comfortable. The classes will run for two-and-half hours. This industry has its creeps and its pitfalls, but I love the freedom and the creativity it offers. I've posed among ancient Mayan ruins in the Yucatán Peninsula, reclined across white sand beaches in Queensland, and balanced on rocks in a crystal-clear Irish lake at sunrise. I've looked out from the bow of a Californian shipwreck like a figurehead and posed nude on horseback in the deserts of Utah. This is just a small sampling of the incredible places my job has taken me in the last two and a half years. The Ancient Egyptian city Heracleion was found in the Ocean

Off the coast of Egypt divers have discovered something that was thought to be lost a long time ago. It was said that the ancient city of Heracleion was lost under the sea for good. Well 1200 years later, off the bay of Aboukir, this ancient city has finally been discovered. The city dates back to the 6th century B.C. and holds some of the most beautiful artifacts you could imagine. Things like grand statues of gods and goddesses standing well over 15 feet tall and carved out of red granite, treasures of gold and rare stones, elaborate temples and enormous tablets. This find is enormous in the historical preservation community and has been commissioned by museums around the world. Take a look at this incredible city found underwater. Disabled chefs serve as model for change in Morocco

RABAT, Morocco (AP) — A remarkable restaurant in Morocco’s capital offers its guests the opportunity to enjoy a full, fresh meal for just $6. But what’s most remarkable are its chefs: all are developmentally disabled. Moroccan salad, grilled meat, Basque rice and lemon mousse are on the menu of the day at the restaurant, part of broader efforts by the Hadaf association that runs it to integrate disabled youth into Moroccan society and the job market, and change perspectives on disability. “At first it’s not an easy thing to teach them cooking, but day after day, thanks to their desire for learning and their passion, they are really developing capacities in the cooking field,” explains Nora Hachami, a specialist trainer at Hadaf.
